ISLAMIC LAWS 6

Islamic Laws 6

If an A'lam Mujtahid gives a fatwa on some matter, his follower cannot act in that matter on the fatwa of another Mujtahid. But if he does not give a fatwa , and expresses a precaution ( ihtiyat) that a man should act in such and such a manner, for example if he says that as a precautionary measure, in the first and second Rak'at of the namaz ( salat) he should read a complete Surah after the Surah of "Hamd" the follower may either act on this precaution, which is called obligatory precaution (ihtiyat wajib) , or he may act on the fatwa of another Mujtahid who it is permissible to follow. Hence, if he ( the second Mujtahid ) rules that only " Surah Hamd" is enough , he ( the person offering prayers ) may drop the second Surah. The position will be the same if the A'alam Mujtahid expresses terms like Ta'mmul or Ishkal

Anew begining of Heart &Soul 7

Anew beginning of Heart & Soul 7

HAJJ is an extremely great opportunity for man to separate and take a distance from the worldly affairs and materialistic values of this world and attachments and classifications and categorization and all of those things which take him away fromthe real meaning and brings him closer to materialism and selfishness and get closer to God. This is an opportunity; it's not something that everybody does. It's not something that everybody has the blessing to do for themselves or utilize it property. But we should try. This is the real principle of the matter at hand, ' And mention the name of Allah on appointed days' We should always recall and bear in mind the name and reminiscence of almighty.Right from the start of our journey from our homelands until the time we reach the House of God, until the beginning of rituals, during those sensitive days and until the end of them, one thing should always be in the minds of HAJJ or the pilgrim of the house of God and that should be to obtain the consent of God, repent from the sins he has commited; he should turn away from everythingwhich takes him farther away from God and turn towards God. If we turn towards God , he will open the path for us. ' And it's a short journey for anyone who migrates towards your court' Taking one step towards God, enlightens the heart of man, gives him success, removes the dust from his judgment and makes the next step and the rest of the journey more comfortable for him. This is the same fundamental topic on the individual aspect of this issue. Nothing could ever take its place

Salat(Prayer) 9

Salat(Prayer) 9

From the time of reciting 'Suratul-Hamd until now, i . e . at the point of lifting  the head off the ground, is called "one rak'ah of Salat", i . e . one 'ruku", Each of the daily salawat consists of either two, three or four raka'at (rak'ahs) Salatus-subh(morning) is a two-rak'ah salat. Salatul- Maghrib(evening) is of three rak'at. Salatuz-Zuhr, (at noon) , salatul' Asr (after noon ) and salatul-'Isha' (night) are of four raka'at , but while travelling these become two - rak'ah salat each. For those who know little about salat, in order to make it easy for them to learn, we explain here only the wajib( obligatory) portion of each of the daily salawat in detail ( leaving now the desirable acts)

Naj al-balaghah 9

Nahj al-balaghah 9

Ward off from yourself the onslaught of worries by firmness of endurance and purity of belief. He who gives up moderation commit excess. A companion is like a relation. A friend is he whose absence also proves the friendship. Passion is a partner of distress. Often the near ones are remoter than the distant ones, and often the distant ones are nearer than the near ones. A stranger is he who has no friend. He who transgresses right narrows his own passage. He who stays in his position remains constant upon it. The most trustworthy intermediary is that which you adopt between yourself and Allah the Glorified. He who does not care for your interests is your enemy. When greed leads to ruin deprivation is an achievment. Not every defect can be reviewed, and not every opportunity recurs

Commentary(Nimunih), Vol2, Page: 41

THE COMMENTARY

ERSE NO. 3

Through this verse( NO. 3 )eleven things have been declared

unlawful: - - 1 - - Carrion or dead meat. 2 - - Blood. 3 - - The flesh of swine. 4 - - that

on which a name other than God is invoked.

5 - - If an animal dies by strangling - - Pagan Arabs did sometimes press the neck of an animal between two pieces of wood, and by compressing their throat choked them to death.

6 - - Animals that are killed by violent blows or die of a disease. It

is narrated in the commentary of GHARTABI that the Pagan Arabs boated animals to death for the pleasure of their idols.

7 - - Animals that may die by a headlong fall from a height.

8 - - Animals that are pierced with the horns or tusks of bulls and boars and etc; and are in anyhow gored to death.

9 - - The mangled prey of the wild beasts, their flesh being cut or torn roughly; with the exception that you reach the prey in time, and when it is alive, and you clean it by ritual slaughter.

10 - - This was also an idolatrous rite, that the pagan Arabs used to install pieces of shapeless stones around the sacred shrine( KAABEH ).

They offered sacrifices to the stones. They then marked the stone with

the blood of the sacrificed animal, in order to be accepted by the stone! 11 - - The Pagan Arab had a sort of gambling, which was casting lots by means of arrows on the principle of lottery. Their arrows were

marked, and in some cases the carcase of a slaughtered animal,( sheep, cow, camel, etc. )was divided into equal parts- then the marked arrows

were drawn out of a bag as lots and dices are- some of them were blank, and those who drew them would get nothing of the meat.

Whatever one could get of a big or small share or nothing at all depended on pure luck, unless there was frauds and tricks.

KARBALA & ASHURA 1

KARBALA & ASHURA 1

Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calender, during which Muslims commemrate the martyrdom of Imam Husayn, grandson of theProphet Muhammad. Husayn was born on the 3rd of Sha'ban, in the fourth year of Hijrah(625 CE). His grandfather, Muhammad, named him Husayn, which means' one of beautiful character. ' The Holy Qur'an refers to the Prophet Muhammad, his  daughter Fatimah, her husband 'Ali, and their two sons Hasan and Husayn, in the Verse, 'Indeed, Allah wants to take away pollution from you, O, people of the House, and purify you [by a special kind of] purification. ' (The holy Qur'an Sura of Ahzab 33 : 33) . The Prophet indicated many times that the people of his House were the most qualified for leadership. Referring to Hasan and Husayn , he said, 'These two are my sons. they are two Imams (Leaders)

HAJJ

The thing which has no place for sacrifice is this. The place where everybody should think of himself at the first place is here! Getting closer to God ;paying attention to God; believing in God's mercy and grace; speaking honestly to God; putting away the wordly luxuries and its deceptions and the materialistic valueswhich have surrounded us like a cocoon of the silkworm so thatit can suffocate and destroy that heavenly nature of our personality; these are the principles. Whenever an individual face the Almighty God with a pure heart and a unadulterated soul; performs that grand ceremony; and truthfully returns back to God; truthfuly migrates towards God; truthfully supplicatesin front of the Almighty of univrse; the doors of blessings will also open upon him

Nahj al- balaghah 8

Know O' my child, that livelihood is of two kinds- a livelihood that you seek and a livelihood that seeks you , which is such that if you do not reach it , it will come to you . How bad it is to bend down at the time of need and to be harsh in riches. You should have from this world only that with which you can adorn your permanent abode. If you cry over what has goneout of your hands then also cry for what has not at all come to you . Infer about what has not yet happened from what has already happened , because occurrences are ever similar . Do not be like those whom preaching does not benefit unless you inflict pain on them, only from beating

Salat(Prayer) 8

Salat (Prayer) 8

Uttering these words, while still in sujud, which is a sign of complete humility and submission, the worshipper once again repeats the spiritual lone of monotheism in his heart, meaning to say:  ' Others prostrate for the wealthy and powerful beings other than Allah, but since I am a Muslim, Iprostrate on the ground only for Allah, who is  the Greatest. And I shalll never prostrate in the presence of anyone and anything except Him.' He then raises his head from the ground and sits upright at ease. Having done so, he once again prostrates, placing his foreheads on the ground and repeating the abovementioned words of glorification and praise of Allah . He then lifts his head off the ground and sits upright for ,,tashahhud,, ( saying the two testimonies), (fig. 5 )

SUNAN AN-NABI 4

Sunan An- Nabi 4

His hands were like the hands of a perfumer - always scented with perfume. He had wide palms. The bonse of his arms and legs were proportionately long. When happy and joyful, his face was like a shiny mirror. He walked inclining forward (This is indicative of strengh), with a humble gait. He would rush ahead of the people to perform good deeds. When he walked, he would raise his feet as if he was descending a declivity. When he smiled, his teeth would shine when exposed briefly, before being covered by his lips. He was handsome, well-mannered, decorous, and friendly. When he turned to face the people, they felt that his face was like a bright lantern, the (drops of ) sweat on his face were like pearls, and the scent of his perspiration was more fragrant than the most excellent musk. He had the seal of prophethood between his shoulders.

Criterion for approbation of HAJJ

The main principle is this. We must make the devotion stronger in ourselves. We must migrate towards Allah. We must place HAJJ for acknowledgement and approval in the court of the Almighty God. How can our HAJJ be approved/ It is when this HAJJ brings us closer to Allah. It is quoted in a saying that "if you want to see whether your HAJJ was approved by Allah or not, see whether you have stopped committing those sins after HAJJ which you used to commit before HAJJ or not/? If you see that you have gained the ability to abstain yourself from those sins, you will find out that the Almighty God has accepted your HAJJ and you have come closer to your Allah " The principles are these : Anstaining from sin : getting closer to Allah : keeping away from selfishness and egoism; sinking oneself in the ocean of God's mercy, like a drop in the ocean. And these are the basic  actions. " Take care of yourselves " ; acknowledge your selves.

5. There are four ways of obtaining the verdicts of a Mujtahid:

When a man hears from the Mujtahid himself.

When the verdict of the Mujtahid is quoted by two just persons.

When a man hears the verdict from a person whose statement satisfies him

By reading the Mujtahid's book of Masae'l. provided that , one is satisfied about the correctness of the book.

6. As long as a person is certain that the verdict of the Mujtahid has not changed , he can act according to what is written in the Mujtahid's book. And if he suspects that the verdict might have been changed, investigation in that matter is not necessary.

Tafsir Qur\\\'an 4

6 - - If in the incident of HUDAYBEYEH, some of the pagans of Mecca, by way of hatred and persecution prevented you from having access to the sacred Mosque; now that you Muslims are superior in power, Do not think of taking vengeance and retaliation, by excluding them or interfering with them in pilgrimage. It is no good to return evil for

evil: - -" Let not your hatred of those who barred you from the Holy mosque, lead you into aggression."

In other words, hatred of the wicked pagans, does not justify hostility on the believers part.

The general principle, and lesson, here is that a Muslim should never be vindictive, and disposed to revenge. Returning evil for evil,

shall eventually fill our society with hatred and evil.

7 - - And the ending of the verse implies that instead of returning evil for evil, and living in a spirit of malice and hatred, we better be forgiving, and help one another in goodness and piety.

8 - - The last instruction in this verse is to take heed of God, by being pious and devout in order to avoid God's punishment which is strict and hard to suffer, and lays in our deeds
